Project description
In Vietnam the technology using biogas for electricity generation is proven and being implemented but the potential of market is not well explored due to the fact that entrepreneurs who are selling, installing and maintaining the technology are rather weak in market development including marketing skills. Furthermore, people in rural areas have not enough knowledge and awareness on the technology and they do not yet believe on the benefits that the technology can bring.
The technology used in the project is modified from gasoline, diesel and LPG. generator in the market. A mixer tube is added with the air choke of original engines. To generate electricity, the biogas as a fuel should be cleaned by a filter before going into the mixer. The filter which consists of iron shaving is used to remove H2S. through chemical reaction as well as to remove water vapour in gases. It is to protect the engines from acidic constituents in the biogas. Unlike gasoline/diesel generators, which produce a lot of exhaust fumes, the biogas generator operated smoothly with no perceivable fumes. In order to keep the generator operate smoothly, the gas pressure should be stable. Therefore, a nylon bag with suitable volume will be added to the system. The gas from digester is stored in the nylon bag, and then, it runs through the filter before going into the generator.
The process of distribution of the bio generator includes these steps: The first step, local marketing team collects the potential customers. Then in the next step, the marketing staff gets in touch with customer and introduces about this product. The last, the technician installs biogas power generator, guides customer how to use as well as gives customer company after sale service paper. D&D company provides product to customer through the local biogas digester builder teams (local agencies). Customers will contact the agencies of D&D company in the local areas. With continuous support from the D&D company, the agencies will implement the installation, selling and maintenance.
By establishing supply chain and organising additional training, the project is expected to prove the effectiveness and efficiency of the company operation.
