037 Biogas generator market development in northern delta

In Vietnam the technology using biogas for electricity generation is proven and being implemented but the potential of market is not well explored due to the fact that entrepreneurs who are selling, installing and maintaining the technology are rather weak in market development including marketing skills. Furthermore, people in rural areas have not enough knowledge and awareness on the technology and they do not yet believe on the benefits that the technology can bring.
By establishing supply chain and organising additional training, the project is expected to prove the effectiveness and efficiency of the company operation.

036 Biogas market development support for existing suppliers in Bac Giang province

Hung Vuong company intends to co-operate with EASE Vietnam to establish some official agents in local areas to promote composite biogas digesters as well as build up some additional services for local builders. These agents will be trained in terms of market, sale, and after-sale services for composite products. Moreover, these teams will also do maintenance service for customers who have problems with their brick-constructed digesters.

031 Biogas project in Thanh Hoa province

Currently in Vietnam, there are no wide scale unsubsidized suppliers of biogas technology outside individual NGO-sponsored projects. As part of the overall EASE strategy in Vietnam, a biogas pilot project was initiated in 2006 in Thanh Hoa province to test the best approaches towards the creation and support of a sustainable biogas market through a network of local suppliers.

The scaling-up strategy will continue to be based on setting up and training teams of technicians at the district level who can then function as service providers. In addition, CCRD will identify the most successful teams and will set them up as trainers for new teams in their district and province. This will help speed up the process of establishing a country-wide network.
