Next to the commercial aspects of the enterprise, Mali Biocarburant now also wants to promote the added value of Jatropha for energy access within the communities it is working with. MBSA has developed a project in cooperation with a program from the Malian goverment on MFPs (‘Programme de Développement des Plates-Formes Multifonctionnelles pour la Lutte contre la Pauvreté’). For 2009, a project is proposed to increase the cultivation of Jatropha through intercropping, improve the MFPs services through proven R&D actions and develop business and management methods to increase the impact and benefits of the MFP.
